Michelle Jonika

Undergraduate Researcher

My name is Michelle Jonika and I have a BS in Forensic and Investigative Science with a minor in Genetics from Texas A&M. I will be continuing my education with a PhD in Genetics at Texas A&M in Fall 2018 where I will focus my research on molecular genetics with an application in forensic science. I completed an undergraduate thesis while in Dr. Tarone’s lab entitled “Genes as Markers of Sex for Forensic Entomology” which developed a molecular technique to identify the sex of species of forensic importance at any stage of development.
